La Spirale d’Or returns to The Space

written & directed by Shelly De Vito

This site-specific performance opens the Entreprise 2009 Festival at The Space. In ReCalling, the historic St. Paul’s Chapel will host scenes recalling the building itself, as remembrance and also as re-identification. Dialogued and silent scenes, music and installation art will contribute to the story-telling and the atmosphere of ReCalling.

…LEAVESDROPPING…

This is the second in a series of works which explore the scenic zeugma.  The audience witnesses and overhears moments of departure, the farewells when we leave dropping clues of our lives. What drops and what is picked up as we leave, as we run after our already-departed selves?

HOUSE CALLS

photo: Z. Jankovic

Written & directed by Shelly De Vito

Become your own camera as you move freely through The Space to discover its possible, improbable, pasts. Scenes come off the wall as the building reveals what it has witnessed: the acts and thoughts of those it has housed. Time bends and walls speak in this site specific performance in which you weave your own experience.  In this age of virtual space, House Calls celebrates the real.  Come calling.

Two women in a train. Or is it an asylum? Tugging and twisting space and words the women establish a dialogue and in their gentle madness, humor and poetry reveal their shared desire to reverse time.
